SARAH HEDGECOCK
Sarah
Hedgecock has 15 years of experience working in financial management,
planning, analysis, and audit, within a number of different roles
in the public and private sector. She has a first class honours degree
in Applied Biology from Aston University in Birmingham. She is a
qualified Chartered Accountant and she also has an MBA from Lancaster
University.
Sarah currently works as a consultant, providing financial analysis and management accounting expertise.
Until recently, she spent over 2 years working as a Business Advisor through VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas), for the main language institute in Maputo, Mozambique. Here she was involved in a programme to transfer skills to local staff. The work included helping to develop abilities in financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting, implementing adequate systems of financial control, and introducing a new accounting package across the multi-site operation. Sarah also developed a working knowledge of the Portuguese language here.
Prior to that, Sarah spent 2 years with Covanta Energy, as a Financial Analyst in the UK. She was responsible for the preparation of financial analyses and valuations for a number of potential acquisitions and new builds throughout the UK and Europe. This included coal fired, CCGT, waste-to-energy & other renewable technologies.
Earlier, she spent nearly 5 years working in a number of management accounting and project accounting roles for Bass PLC, mainly with their international brewing businesses in the Czech Republic and China, and their UK based export business.
